The Mama Feel Good! misfits went on a trip to the big old capital for the launch of Ian Wright’s latest compilation album Sister Funk 2.

Twas an all nighter and Amy and I were pretty hammered. We had a good old chin wag with Fryer who is a top lad as well as doorman for the night Jazzman Gerald.

The music was fantastic; 3 rooms of top class music. I don’t dare to think how many thousands of pounds worth of vinyl was in that venue!! Ian Wright killed it! Even his disco funk was great!

For me the jazz dancers were amazing. A petite stylee little lady called Val, clad in a dapper suit busted out some ridiculous moves. Mesmerising. We are going to have her come and perform at the Drop Beats Not Bombs night. We also met a female funk DJ down there too. Shame I lost her business card; duh! I hope she gets in contact…

Amy and I were fortunate enough to get a place to crash a la Mr. Short who kindly put us up and gave us tea. We also met Amy’s funk sensei DJ Ben from Swansea another immense collector with tons of charisma and big smiles!

Gerald allowed us misfits the honour of seeing his office and sitting in on his radio recording with DJ Ben who played us some wicked rare funk!!

What an education that weekend was! It was nice to go out and hear amazing funk I did not know.
